About Small Cafe Lodging
We have three quirky and unexpected rooms for a comfortable stay. The Guest Cottage is our largest and most convenient for families and extended stays. It is also handicap assessable. The other two more space efficient rooms are filled with charm and wistfulness that will just make you happy. Click the link for the room of your choice for more pictures and particulars. The Woodshed
This unit is a refurbished container building built by an architect professor at UNC Charlotte to house a traveling art exhibit. It's now a unique space with a queen size bed, private bath, and access to a deck overlooking our gardens with outsider folk art scattered throughout. For your convenience, there is a micromini fridge (holds the equivalent of six 12oz cans), coffee maker with pods, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows.

The Tree House
This unit is also a refurbished container building built by an architect professor at UNC-C to house a traveling art exhibit. This space efficient room (8ftx8ft) has a tall, airy, ceiling, full size bed, private bath, micromini fridge (holds the equivalent of six 12oz cans), coffee maker with pods, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows. Only pets under 20 lbs. allowed due to size. The deck has seating for 2 overlooking the art-filled gardens.

Spacious Guest Cottage
Eccentric décor and art adorn the walls of our Guest Cottage which is our largest unit. This fully handicap accessible room has a king sized bed in a private bedroom and a queen size Murphy bed located in the common area. The large open living room includes a kitchenette with a hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, minifridge Wi-Fi and smart TV. If you would like to relax outside, to the left of the front door you will find a patio with vintage lawn furniture (seats 4) and a coffee table.

Cancellation Policy
We hope you never have to cancel a stay with us; however, if you do, we are happy to offer you a full refund 5 days prior to your arrival.
Guest Breakfast Policy For Cafe Closed Days
We love our guests and want them to feel taken care of and welcome. Having said that, our cafe is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. On our closed days, we are happy to offer our homemade and quite delicious scones to fill your tummies and make you smile.
In each room, coffee is available or store your other favorite beverage in our micro mini fridge in Treehouse or Woodshed. The Guest Cottage has a regular mini fridge.
Pet Policy
Our guests are welcome to bring along their 4-legged friend. Due to extra cleaning, there is a 20% fee of your total stay price for your pet.
Here are a few house rules:
Pets must be on a leash when they're outside their rooms. Owners must pick up after their pets when they're on premises. We have provided an outdoor pet station to make it convenient for you.
We prefer not to have pets left unattended in our rooms, but understand that it might occasionally happen. If it has to happen, we require full contact information in case something seems wrong, full access to the room to check on your pet if needed, and a kennel if there is any question of the pet's behavior. Should any damage occur, we'll let you know the cost to repair/clean/replace the item.
Child Policy
Our gardens are a wonderful playground for children. They enjoy the hammock and the hammock swing very much. Here are rules to help keep them safe while staying with us:
Children must be supervised when they are on the property, playing on the hammock/hammock swing, or petting other guests' pets. We also ask they stay in the grassy areas and not walk through the designated garden spaces.
